After a brief altercation with the Rocket's Dillion Brooks, Laker's Jarred Vanderbilt was ejected and sent back to the pavilion in the second quarter of the game.

Although Brooks is among the National Basketball Association's (NBA) finest perimeter defenders, Vanderbilt witnessed firsthand on Monday night that his greatest talent may be getting under his opponent's skin, Sportskeeda reported.

In the second quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Houston Rockets, Vanderbilt was dismissed, so Brooks ended up with the last laugh this time.

During the match, Brooks gave Vanderbilt a bit of nudge, to which the Lakers forward replied with a shove of his own.

This earned Vanderbilt his first technical, but unfortunately, he wasn’t done there. As Brooks was walking away, Vanderbilt followed him and poked the back of his head again, leading to a second technical and an early tip to the showers.

Dillon Brooks is one of the best in the NBA at baiting opponents into making risky moves.

This is Vanderbilt's first season since his return from a heel injury that delayed his play. He has looked better in recent weeks, however, scoring in double digits in four of his last five games entering Monday.

He finished with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals in 41 minutes during the Lakers' thrilling double-overtime victory over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.

For most of the evening, Vanderbilt's response consisted of either staring at Brooks or holding and nudging him in his way.
