Ronaldo bags another accolade, becomes 'most searched athlete' in Google's history

After around a decade-long illustrious career marked with numerous accolades, Cristiano Ronaldo has added another feather to his cap by becoming the "most searched athlete" in Google's history.

After winning five Ballon d’Or awards along with multiple Champions League titles, Ronaldo has now achieved a landmark milestone in the online world by surpassing all other athletes in Google's statistics, reported goal.com.

The 38-year-old footballer took to his Instagram account to post a video of him voicing his iconic celebratory phrase "sui" and expressed gratitude for his triumph in the virtual arena.

"Grateful to be honoured as the most searched athlete in @google history," read the caption on his post.

The achievement is no surprise as the Portuguese star has around 615 million followers on Instagram alone as compared to his long-time rival Lionel Messi whose Instagram account has 495 million followers.

Although both Ronaldo and Messi are often pitted against each other on the pitch quite often, it seems that the Portuguese striker has no comparison when it comes to appealing to the masses.
